Boroujerdi denounces Saudi handling of Iran’s plane in Yemen

TEHRAN, Apr. 25 (MNA) – Chairman of Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has said Saudi obstruction of Iranian aid to Yemen reveals yet another ugly face of the regime.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi Chairman of Iran Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission told Mehr News that Saudi Arabia’s move to intercept an Iranian airplane taking an airlift of humanitarian aid to Yemen revealed another ugly face of the regime.

Saudi fighter jets have twice intercepted Iranian airplanes carrying humanitarian aid, food stuff and medical equipments, from entering Yemen’s airspace on Friday.

Boroujerdi said the move reveals another ugly face of the Arab country, after brutal and aggressive massacre of innocent people of the neighboring impoverished country.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed on Wednesday that sending medical aids and providing medical care for those injured in the Saudi-led strikes against Yemen set a priority for Tehran.

On Friday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned Saudi Arabia’s charge d’affaires to express Tehran’s protest over Saudi Arabia’s obstruction of Iranian planes in the Yemeni airspace, including one carrying a consignment of humanitarian aid for war-hit Yemenis.
