President slams manipulation of sanctions to pressurize countries

Tehran, April 20, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Monday criticized manipulation of sanctions by certain powers to pressurize independence-seeking countries.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with the Greece Ambassador to Iran George Ifantis.

In the meeting, the ambassador submitted his credentials to the Iranian President.

There is no barrier on the way for development of relations between Iran and Greece, he added.

The official underlined that Iran and Greece have good potentials for boost of cooperation.

Tehran is ready to enhance all out ties with Greece, the president noted.

He said that at the present time, the policy of manipulation of sanction to pressurize countries has no use.

Greek ambassador for his part stressed increase of all out ties with Iran.

He referred to the cultural-historical ties between the two countries and said that Iran is an independent influential state in region.

Greece seeks strategic ties with Iran and is against the policy of manipulation of sanction to isolate countries, Ifantis added.
