Tehran, April 19, IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially welcomed his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Ashraf Ghani at the Sa’dabad Cultural Complex in Tehran on Sunday.
Ghani arrived in Tehran Sunday morning and was welcomed by Iran’s Interior Minister Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli at the airport.
He is leading a ranking delegation to Tehran for a two-day visit to the country upon the official invitation of President Rouhani.
Ashraf Ghani is to confer with a number of ranking Iranian officials on ways to promote and consolidate mutual cooperation.
He will also discuss the latest regional and international developments with them.
The visit was to take place last month, but was postponed due to the avalanche in an Afghanistan province which claimed lives of close to one hundred people.
