Tehran, April 11, IRNA � Highlighting close ties as well as lots of cultural and historical commonalities, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Saturday called for further expansion of comprehensive ties and cooperation between Iran and Armenia.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with the new Armenian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran Artassh Tumanian during which the ambassador presented a coply of his credentials to the Iranian top diplomat.

The new Armenian ambassador, for is part, conveyed top Armenian officials' warmest greetings to Zarif.

'In this mission I will try to expand Armenia's trade ties with Iran to a greater extend than ever before,' he said.

Tumanian expressed his country's satisfaction with the announcement of the Lausanne fact sheet.
