Foreign ministry condemns bombardment of displaced people camp in Yemen

Tehran, March 31, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham on Tuesday strongly condemned bombardment of a camp of displaced people in Yemen which claimed lives of tens of civilians. She also expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.

Such acts are in gross violation of Yemen’s territorial integrity, she said and called for immediate halt of any foreign military interventions in that country.

She called on the international community and Red Cross to act upon their ethical and humanitarian responsibilities and send relief aid to the victims of such conflict.

Military intervention cannot resolve the issue, but on the contry will make it more complicated, she said.

She invited all political parties and groups to go back to negotiating table to help resolve the issue.

Saudi jet fighters on Monday bombarded a camp of displaced Yemeni people killing at least 45 defenseless civilians.
