LAUSANNE (Sputnik) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif have held a bilateral meeting inLausanne, Switzerland, where Tehran and P5+1 group ofinternational negotiators are holding their current roundof negotiations onIran's nuclear program.
Earlier onSunday the foreign ministers ofP5+1 group held a consultation meeting inLausanne.
On Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister also held meetings withhis Chinese and US counterparts.
Iran and P5+1 group comprising Russia, the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany have set March 31 asa deadline foragreeing upona political framework fora comprehensive nuclear deal onIranian nuclear program. The deal itself is expected tobe reached bythe end ofJune, 2015.The current roundof negotiations kicked offon Thursday and was expected tolast untilMarch 29.
Earlier onSunday a source inIranian delegation told RIA Novosti that the sides agreed toprolong the negotiations untilTuesday, March 31.
