Tehran, Jan 17, IRNA - Chairman of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said here on Saturday that despite 'crippling sanctions' of enemies, Iran has attained the highest achievement in the field of defense.
��Addressing a local gathering attended by senior managers of Iran's Defense Ministry, Boroujerdi underscored that Iran is the most powerful country in the region.
Today, Iran has reached the point that the enemies do not dare to engage in a military confrontation with Iran, he added.

With reliance on the grace of Almighty God, Iran is among the greatest missile powers in the world, Boroujerdi said.

He also noted that the Islamic Republic is in a superior position in terms of defense capabilities.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

The country has repeatedly made it clear that its military might is merely based on the state's defense doctrine of deterrence and that it poses no threat to other countries.
