TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined the importance of the ongoing negotiations between Iran and six world powers over Tehrans peaceful nuclear program, saying that the talks are at a critical juncture.The talks are very sensitive and critical and I think that we have never had such important negotiations after the Iraqi imposed war on Iran (in the 1980s), Larijani said in a speech in the holy city of Qom on Thursday.
The nuclear negotiators should continue the process of the talks with rationality, he said, adding that the achievements gained in the talks, which are the outcome of Irans resistance, should be preserved.
He also slammed the US behavior in the previous rounds of the talks and said, Those who have not the capability to settle the issue (nuclear standoff) should be aware that they cannot carry out a political fraud.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are now in nuclear talks with the aim of hammering out a final agreement to end more than a decade of impasse over Tehrans peaceful nuclear program.
Negotiating teams from Iran and the US have started bilateral meetings in the Swiss city of Geneva on Thursday, January 15, and will continue the talks until January 17.
Later on January 18, Iran and the group of six world powers will resume talks at the level of deputy foreign ministers.
