Official urges Oil Ministry to deal with oil price drop properly

Tehran, Jan 13, IRNA Chairman of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Yahya Ale-Eshaq expressed hope that with regard to the global oil price drop, the Oil Ministry will adopt proper plans to handle the situation.
Speaking at a session to examine the Oil Ministry performance in 'resistance economy,' he said there are competent managers in the establishment who will help advancement of the affairs by relying on their expertise despite all internal and external problems.
Stressing that the country has a record in dealing with such problems the official said experienced managers have so far been able to stand against problems much harder and deeper and run the affairs through their prudence.

He said the country has managed to pass through much harder conditions, adding that the Oil Minister and other ministries should adopt an attitude that problems such as drop in oil price cannot deal the least damage to the country.

He emphasized on reduction of dependence of the budget on oil revenues and noted that for years it has been called for implementation of oil free economy but so far efforts have failed to realize such a target.

However, he expressed hope that each year the share of oil revenues in the budget will be decreased and gradually steps will be taken in a direction to save oil revenues for the generations to come.

Ale-Eshaq said the budget dependence on oil is less than 31% and expressed hope that such dependence will be reduced each year and the downward trend will continue.
