Kavian petrochemical complex denies fire incident

Kavian petrochemical complex denies fire incident
TEHRAN Dec 30 (Shana)--Managing director of Kavian Petrochemical Complex Ramezan Owladi denied a purported fire incident in the complex, saying the complex has been operating normally within the past 45 days.
Speaking to Shana, Owladi further said that the complex produces 70 tons of ethylene per hour now.
He noted the petrochemical complex takes more than 85 tons of ethane each hour and transfers it to West Ethylene Pipeline after converting it to ethane.

Owladi noted that the first train of the complex operates with half of its full capacity stating the second train is ready for pre-commissioning operations and would start work in case of taking feedstock.

Kavian petrochemical complex is able to produce more than two million tons of ethylene if additional ethane is made available from South Pars gas field phases 15&16, he told Shana.
The complex, at present, takes feedstock from South Pars gas field phases 4&5 and 9&10 and converts it to ethylene for injection to west ethylene pipeline and transfer to Lorestan, Kermanshah, Ilam, Andimeshk, Kordestan, Mahabad and Miandoab petrochemical complexes.
