Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said Sunday that the growth in Iran's gas output has already surpassed 70 million cubic meters and is estimated to reach 100 mcm by the year-end.
Zanganeh made the remarks in a meeting of the board of directors of the National Iranian Gas Company.
Zangeneh hailed the effort made by all the workers of Iranian gas industry to pipe the additional gas from the South Pars Field in southern Iran.
Referring to further increase in gas output due to projects underway in the South Pars Field to produce gas, Zangeneh said that more plans are needed in coming years.
Zangeneh said that boosting fuel efficiency in domestic and industrial sectors tops the agenda of the Oil Ministry.
He said the efficiency of all gas-fuelled house appliances and power plants is vital.
