Dropping prices a challenge for petrochemical sector

TEHRAN Dec 28 (Shana)--After falling oil prices in world markets, Iranian petrochemical sector faces the challenges of falling the value of petrochemical products.
Managing director of Bandar Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Complex made the remarks in a briefing session with the managers of the petrochemical complex units expressing hope the complex could handle the dropping prices issue through proper management of the situation.
Referring to a report on the exports and sale of petrochemical products over the first six months of this year, he said statistics show that Bandar Imam Khomeini Petrochemical Complex status is satisfactory in view of exports adding despite falling prices the performance of the complex over the second half of the year is estimated satisfactory when it is compared with similar period last year.
Examining the situation of vital equipment of the units, review the performance of olefin unit after overhaul, the steps taken in the field of removing pollution, the necessity of respecting and observing safety issues, examining the performance of important installations and improving the quality were among the other main issues were discussed during the session.
