Commercial councilors to be dispatched abroad

Tehran, Dec 25, IRNA – A senior official at Iran Trade Development Organization said commercial attaches have been nominated and will soon be dispatched to Italy, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and South Korea for further interaction with those countries.
Reza Abbasqoli further remarked that in the month of Aban (October/November) 20 Iranian commercial attaches in the target countries inspected Sirjan Special Economic Zone and examined mechanisms to find ways to markets in target countries, attract investment, and maintain raw materials.

He noted that the Trade Development Organization has formulated the strategy for acquaintance with opportunities and limitations of different parts of the country. To that end, the envoys prior to their dispatch participate in specialized sessions with the officials of different organizations to examine opportunities and challenges of each region in the country.

Abbasqoli commented that the commercial representatives will inspect industrial and mining units in different provinces of the country and will become familiarized with capabilities of different sectors and regions.

In the calendar month of Mehr (September/October) this year the cabinet ministers assigned the minister of industry, mines and trade to plan dispatch of 30 commercial councilors to the target countries.

Commercial councilors play a significant role in development of trade and economic cooperation with other countries and supply of information from those countries to Iran. Transfer of capabilities of different sectors in Iran to their country of assignment is highly important.

The Trade Development Organization of Iran has so far dispatched 20 commercial councilors to countries which are trade partners of Iran. The number will increase to 30 soon.
