Tehran, Dec 10, IRNA The Islamic Guidance and Culture Ministry will provide new facilities to foreign journalists and news agencies based in Iran, an official of the ministry said.
Currently four institutes possess licenses to provide foreign journalists with services, Director General of the ministry for Foreign Press Mohammad Mansour Koushesh said on Wednesday.
If foreign reporters (non-residents) hold certain qualifications, Iran has tried to reduce the time of issuing a work permit to 10 days. Moreover qualified foreign media can open cluster offices in Iran in less than a month, he noted.
The official said that more than 137 foreign news agencies which are active in Iran are provided with facilities from the Culture Ministry.
The cooperation of private sector will indeed be welcome in expanding, the quality and quantities, of foreign news agencies in Iran, he added.
