ISLAMABAD, Dec. 08 (MNA) Alireza Ghorbani, the highly-acclaimed traditional vocalist, won the Sufi award at Pakistans International Mystic Music Sufi Festival 2014.Alireza Ghorbani who had participated in Pakistans International Mystic Music Sufi Festival 2014, played in two Pakistani cities of Lahore and Islamabad, and received the festivals Sufi award from the festival organizer Rafi Peer.
The Sufi Festival brought together a diverse group of Sufi singers from Pakistan, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, China, Russia and India to showcase Sufi poetry and music that was created more than a thousand years ago.
Ghorbani accompanied by a group of Iranian musicians comprising Saman Samimi on Kamanche, Milad Mohamad on Tar, and Zakaria Yousefi on percussions, performed Rumis poetry which suited the festivals atmosphere.
Some of tracks that were performed by Ghorbani during these two performances were improvisations and the rest had been composed by Saman Samimi.
On the sidelines of the festival, Ghorbani met with the notable Pakistani choir Ali Feiz and invited him to have a performance in Iran.
The two-day 13th International Mystic Music Sufi Festival 2014 kicked off on Saturday at Alhamra Cultural Complex Gaddafi Stadium.
Alireza Ghorbani, born in 1973, is a traditional vocalist who has already taken part in many important festivals across the world. Recently, he performed in Dsseldorf, Germany with Dsseldorf Young Philharmonic Orchestra.
