Iran, Germany to launch direct flights in January

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA A German airline is to establish direct flights to Iran by the end of January 2015, Iran's Ambassador to Germany Ali Majedi said here on Sunday.
'Two direct flights are to be launched between Tehran and Berlin while another two will be established between Tehran and Dussledorf. The German airline will also begin a direct flight between Dusseldrof, Germany's business center, and the holy city of Mashhad in northeast of Iran,' Majedi added.
He made the remarks while addressing a meeting on Iran-Germany trade relations in Tehran.

Majedi also said that Lufthansa, the largest airline in Europe, has voiced readiness to overhaul Iranian planes.

Based on an agreement signed between Iran and Germany, he added, 150 MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machines as well as 300 computerized tomography (CTScan) and 30 Bat scan are to be delivered to Iran soon.

He said, meanwhile, negotiations were held between Iran and a number of German oil drilling companies for participating in Iran's oil projects.

Majedi noted that banking problems are major obstacles on the way of promotion of Iran-Germany trade ties, adding that useful talks have been held between the two sides to remove those obstacles soon.
