Diplomat: Iran’s nuclear program pursued based on Geneva Agreement

Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA – Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities will continue during the next 7 months in the framework of Geneva Agreement, a source close to the Iranian nuclear negotiations team said here Friday.
“In the course of the next seven months Iran will continue its nuclear research and development (R&D) activities in accordance with the Geneva Agreement and there will be no change in that respect,” the Iranian diplomat told IRNA on condition of anonymity.

The foreign ministers of Iran and the Sextet decided on November 24 to extend the duration of their nuclear negotiations till July 1, 2015.

A member of the negotiation team, too, had earlier said that the negotiations for achieving a comprehensive nuclear agreement will continue till that date, although achieving final result before that date is quite possible.

During 7 days of negotiations in Vienna the Iranian negotiation team tried hard to finalize the talks, but the other side, due to internal pressures and especially the results of the US Congress elections, was not able to reach agreement within the previously defined deadline.

The Iranian diplomats have thus far remained stressing on Tehran’s redlines, preserving the Iranian nation’s rights and Iran’s interest, and all the same agreed with the western side’s proposal to extend the negotiations’ period to show Tehran’s good will.
