Domestic, foreign companies ready for investment in IKIA project
Tehran, Nov 29, IRNA Managing director of a domestic investment company has announced his companys readiness for cooperation with two foreign companies for making 1.2 billion euro investment in the second phase of Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Majid Javdani told IRNA on Saturday that a Chinese finance company (SCE), Lyon Airport Company (CSCDC) and Sana Pardakht Aras Company are to cooperate in constructing the second phase of Imam Airport and are currently examining feasibilities for a passenger terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers with Iran Airports Company.
Pointing to the maintenance of the financial funding of this project by a Chinese company, he said the French Lyon Airport Company will conduct construction operations of the said terminal and Sana Pardakht Aras Company will be in charge of investment management of the project.

According to this private sector investor, in case agreement is reached with Iran Airports Company after signing the contract construction operations will be launched.

Javdani said the volume of the required investment in Imam Airport is highly extensive and only big financial companies can afford making investment in such projects.

He pointed to the readiness of Lyon Airport Company for construction of an airport city in Aras Free Zone and said currently efforts are being made for attraction of investors for this project.

Javdani further remarked that during negotiations held between directors of Aras Free Zone and the French company a draft memorandum of understanding for implementation of the project in the zone has been presented the result of which will be announced later.

Asked whether the sanctions will cause any problem for transfer of finance in this project, he said based on the permission of the US Treasury there is no difficulty in this regard and with the cooperation of the two companies the project can be easily implemented.
