Airports official: Iranian sky safe passage of 70 countries flights

Kish Island, November 19, IRNA Commercial and passenger planes of 70 countries around the globe pass through Irans sky, Managing Director of State Airports Company Mohammad Ilkhani said here Tuesday.
Since the skies of some regional countries have become unsafe, the Iranian sky has during the past 24 hours been the safe passage for more than 900 foreign planes, said Ilkhani, addressing the opening ceremony of the 7th International Air and Aviation Industries Biannual of Iran.
He said that the total length of Irans 92 international air routes is 59,000 kilometers.

In order to offer navigation services to the international transit and local flights Iran is using ten radar systems which were installed in countrys airports 15 years ago, he said.

Ilkhani said that currently more than 170 UAE flights pass through the Iranian air space and an average seven US planes, too, use the navigation services of Iran each day.

He said that during the past 24 hours 1,581 Iranian and foreign planes have reached their destinations using the navigation services of Iran.
