TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif said the ISIL terrorist group is a project devised by the world arrogant powers to create horror among the regional nations.

Addressing a forum of Basij (volunteer forces) in the Southeastern city of Kerman on Saturday, Sharif referred to ISIL's crimes and its siege of some cities in Iraq and Syria, and said, "Such acts are carried out in line with implementing the world arrogance's strategy for intimidating the region."

He also underlined the ISIL's affiliation to the Zionists, and said, "Today, ISIL enjoys access to the media and the world's state-of-the-art military weapons."

In relevant remarks last month, Sharif underlined that the intense foreign media coverage of the ISIL attacks against Iraq was meant to cover up Israel's failure in the recent war against the Gaza people.

"During the 51-day war of Israel, the arrogant countries' media shifted their focus on the ISIL attacks and started making hues and cries about it, and one of the main reasons behind this issue was marginalizing the US failure against the people in Gaza," Sharif said, addressing a forum of Basij (volunteer) forces in the Western city of Kermanshah.

He also described attempts to display as "violent" the Islamic concepts as another goal pursued by the enemies by exaggerating the ISIL attacks, and said, "We should have a deep understanding of the strategies of enemies' media and the components of our power."
