20th press expo officially open to public
Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA The 20th Exhibition of Press and News Agencies started its work officially on Sunday morning with the participation of a large number of foreign media and news agencies from 13 world countries.

Some 31 international media including 25 TV networks, four news agencies and one 31-channel radio network as well as one foreign magazine had voiced readiness to attend the opening ceremony of the cultural event.

The opening ceremony of the expo was held Saturday evening at the Imam Khomeinis Mosalla (Prayers Ground) with the participation of Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati and a group of mediapersons.

The Turkish Anadolu Agency, Al-Manar of Lebanon, Phoenix of China as well as the Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen, usually shortened to ZDF from Germany and the Associated Press (AP), Time Magazine and the AFP of France and the Itar-Tass from Russia are among participants of the exhibition which will end on November 14.

Some 560 written or electronic media are attending the exhibition out of which some 373 are from private sector and 183 are public or state-owned press.

A large number of visitors from Tehran and other Iranian cities are expected to visit the international event.

Over 10 educational workshops and specialized sessions are also to be held on the sidelines of the press exhibition.
