TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Tehran’s Persepolis football team defeated Zob Ahan 1-0 in the third week of the Iranian Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
“I am happy since we won a difficult match. Zob Ahan players had good chances but we took advantage of our opportunities. We should have scored the second goal,” Ali Daei said in the post match news conference.
Elsewhere, Naft earned a precious 2-1 victory over Esteghlal Khuzestan in its away game.
Kamaleddin Kamyabinia was on target for the visiting team in the 54th minute and Salif Coulibaly equalized the match with five minutes remaining.
Two minutes later, David Wirikom scored to seal a 2-1 victory for Naft.
Tractor Sazi also saw off Malavan 1-0 thanks to a Luciano Edinho’s 6th minute goal.
