Irans President Hassan Rouhani[/caption]Irans President Hassan Rouhani has condemned the international silence on the Israeli regimesrelentlesscrimes in the Gaza Strip, vowing to fully support the Palestinian people.
The government and Foreign Ministry of Iran, as a revolutionary country and head of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), will with all its might support the defenseless [Palestinian] people, Rouhani said at a cabinet session on Sunday.
RouhanisaidtheIsraeli air and ground assaults on the defenseless people in Gazahas been compounded by "the international silence in the face of this huge catastrophe."
The same countries which lay claim to civilizationare keeping silent on theacts ofterrorism by the Israeli regime, he said.
The Iranian president emphasized that the Israeli regime has caused this tragic situation under unfounded pretexts and said Western countries and many Arab and Muslim states have either remained silent on Israels crimes ortakeninsignificantmeasuresrelativeto the scale of humanitarian crisisin the besieged enclave.
Rouhanisaidthat the appalling massacre of Palestinian family members in Gaza "is not byany means tolerable and believable.
The bloodshed is continuing in Gaza for the 13th straight day as there is no let-up to the Israeli onslaught on the blockaded enclave.
Medics say the overall Palestinian death toll has now soared to at least 435. The figure soared following a massive Israeli assault on Shejaiya district and its surroundings.
Israeli warplanes and soldiers backed by tanks have intensified aerial and ground operations against the coastal sliver. More than 3,000 Palestinians have also been wounded since July 8.
