TEHRAN (Tasnim) Iranian lawmakers urged the countrys diplomats to steadfastly safeguard the Islamic Republics nuclear rights in negotiations with world powers.In a statement, published on Wednesday and signed by the majority of lawmakers, the Iranian parliament voiced support for the team of negotiators engaged in nuclear talks with the sextet of world powers (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).
Since July 2, delegates from Iran and the Group 5+1 have launched a fresh round of high-profile talks in the Austrian capital of Vienna in a bid to hammer out a final deal on Tehrans nuclear case.
The statement also referred to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khameneis assertion about Irans need for an enrichment capacity of 190,000 SWUs (separative work units), insisting that any comprehensive nuclear deal should entail that figure.
Elsewhere in the statement, the lawmakers called on the negotiators to refuse to sign a deal that might exclude Irans right to continue research and development activities in the nuclear field.
It also emphasized that under a comprehensive agreement, Irans Fordow uranium enrichment facility should keep operating, the unilateral sanctions imposed on Iran should be lifted and the countrys nuclear case should be deal with normally.
Iran should also enjoy the whole privileges and rights as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the statement underlined.
