Spokesperson welcomes expansion of media ties between Iran, Italy

Tehran, July 13, IRNA – In a meeting with Director General of an Italian news agency, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham welcomed development of media ties between Iran and Italy.
 According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Sunday, Director General of Italian News Agency AGI Alessandro Pica, who is in Tehran, heading a media delegation, met with Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman here.

In the meeting, Afkham called old good relations between Iran and Italy as a ground for cooperation in the field of media and welcomed expansion of media ties between the two countries and stressed that visit of Italian AGI News Agency delegation to Tehran is a good point to develop cooperation between news agencies of the two countries.

Referring to the talks between officials of Islamic Republic News Agency, IRNA, and AGI during past two days, Afkham expressed hope that by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on news cooperation between IRNA and AGI, exchanging of news in different fields and shuttle of reporters and directors of the two agencies could be more than past.

Alessandro Pica, by expressing pleasure with being in Iran, presented a report on AGI News Agency abilities and background and welcomed development of cooperation with IRNA.
