Int'l expo showcases painting masterpieces in Iran

Int
More than 120 celebrated painters from more than 10 countries have their masterpieces put on display in the International Gallery Exposition in Tehran.
Some 293 painting masterpieces from 24 international galleries from Austria, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Turkey and several other countries were exhibited in the expo.

A painting by Pablo Picasso, two works by Joan Miro, and two sculptures by Salvador Dali were among the artworks exhibited.

In order to make this expo more attractive, we had to negotiate a lot, so that we could exhibit the works of distinguished and famous artists here, said Mohammad-Reza Saeidi, the curator for Museum.

Several gallery owners, artists and art experts are also in Tehran aiming to be in more direct contact with Iranian artists. They want to gain access to the source of Iranian artworks, Saeidi said.

He added that no Iranian galleries are attending the program; however, works by several well-known Iranian artists, including Bita Vakili, Jalal Shabahangi, Reza Kianian, Hamid Pazouki, Ahmad Vakili, Farideh Lashaei, Salar Ahmadian and Ali Shirazi were also put on display.
