World-renowned author J.K. Rowling has brought Harry Potter back from a seven-year-long hiatus in the boy wizards adventures.
A short story, fashioned into the style of a gossip column showed up on Rowlings pottermore.com on Monday, where Potter and his friends reunite for a tournament of the broomstick-riding game quidditch.

The article has been written, so to speak, by gossip columnist Rita Skeeter, a character from the Potter books, who portrays Potter as one, who is about to turn 34 and is married with two kids.

The story also stars Harry's ginger friend Ron Weasley, and their wives Ginny and Hermione.

It forms part of a series about the "2014 Quidditch Cup."

To foreshadow further development, the story asks whether the "chosen one" is "embroiled in fresh mysteries that will one day explode upon us all, plunging us into a new age of terror and mayhem."

The last novel in the Harry Potter series, more than 450 million copies of which have been sold worldwide, was published in 2007.

Rowlingannounced last year that she will make her screenwriting debut by penning a series of spin-off films set in the Potter world, starting with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
