Peyman Moadi to judge at Shanghai film festival
Internationally-renowned Iranian actor and filmmaker Peyman Moadi has been selected to serve at the jury panel of the 2014 Shanghai International Film Festival.
Moadi will collaborate with other jurors including Korean director Im Sang-soo, Chinese director Liu Jie, British filmmaker Sally Potter, Danish director Lone Scherfig and Japanese director Shunji Iwai.

Born in 1972, Moadi started his film career as a screenwriter in late 2000s. He is the writer of several famous Iranian movies.

He started his acting career in Asghar Farhadi's film About Elly (2009). Two years later, he received the Silver Bear award for Best Actor from the Berlin International Film Festival for his leading role in Farhadis Oscar winning movie A Separation.

Peyman Moadi's directorial debut Snow on the Pines has been screened in many international film events.

Iranian film Snow directed by Mehdi Rahmani will be also competing for the Goblet award at this years Chinese festival.

The 2014 Shanghai festival is slated to screen about 900 films in different categories in 35 theaters.

Established in 1993, Shanghai film festival is Chinas most international film festival and remains an important fixture on the film festival circuit an Asia.

The 17th session of the Shanghai International Film Festival will take place from June 14 through 22, 2014.
