WHO pleased with Iran's progress in rendering medical services

WHO pleased with Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Margaret Chan voiced her satisfaction over Iran's eye-catching progress in various sanitary fields, particularly in rendering standard medical services to people from all walks of life.

Speaking at a meeting with Iranian Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi in Geneva on Tuesday, Chan said that currently many countries are facing lack of skillful manpower in sanitary services as well as lack of coordination between medical education with people's health needs, but Iranian pattern of merging medical education with medical services can be certainly a solution to this concern.

Qazizadeh attended the Meeting of Health Ministers of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries which kicked off in Geneva on Tuesday.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of WHO annual meeting. Iran, as the rotating president of NAM, chaired the Health Ministers Meeting too.
