Tehran, April 2, IRNA Expressing regret over issuance of an anti-Iran resolution at the European Parliament (EP), Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman said approval of the resolution on Iran is based on double-standards and politically motivated.The EP resolution on violation of human rights in Iran is baseless and counterproductive; European parliament should do its best to understand Iranian culture and religious beliefs and not to use human rights as a political lever.
Marzieh Afkham underlined that Islamic Republic of Iran would continue its way forward for promotion of human rights based on Islamic injunctions.
She added that such resolutions are issued in defiance of Irans positive steps in fulfilling its obligations and its constructive cooperation with international bodies and the improving human rights conditions inside.
