FM calls for commitment of Iran, West to their obligations

Tehran, March 26, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Wednesday that both Iran and the West need to meet their commitments in order to reach a comprehensive and final agreement.

Zarif made the remark in a meeting with newly-appointed Iranian ambassadors to Slovenia, Ireland, Spain, Netherland and Kazakhstan prior to their departure from Iran.

Zarif reiterated the Iranian government?s resolve to promote ties with other countries based on mutual respect and in line with mutual interests, calling on the ambassadors to make efforts in this regard.

He underlined the significance of relations with the European Union and said last June presidential elections in Iran and an interim deal reached between Iran and the West in the course of talks over Tehran?s nuclear program has caused an opportunity that has to be seized.

Zarif also congratulated the ambassadors on the occasion of Nowruz, the Persian new year, and wished success for them during their missions.
