South Pars wells produce 102 mcf/d of gas

TEHRAN Mar 16 (Shana): Average gas production from 30 wells in the giant offshore South Pars gas field has soared to 102 mcf/d from 72 mcf/d following perforation and acidizing operations, a senior official said.
Ali-Akbar Shabanpour, managing-director of Pars Oil and Gas Company, said 30 wells have so far undergone acidizing and perforation operations in South Pars which Iran shares with Qatar.


He added that production from some wells has even doubled.

Shabanpour said South Pars production reached 302 mcm/d in the last calendar year which ended in March 2013, adding that it was beyond forecast of 283 mcm/d.
