Iranian figurative painter displays work in Tehran
TEHRAN, March 4 (MNA) An Iranian artists and translator who lives in Italy has recently visited Iran; holds an exhibition for her paintings in Haft Samar Art Gallery.
Shaqayeq Sharafi, Iranian national living in Italy, has held an art gallery of her paintings from February 28 to March 5 in Tehran. She told Mehr News correspondent my painting experience started with figurative art as a hobby and I used to do this kind of paintings on large walls.



She mentioned that figurative art had roots in real object, and was often defined in contrast to abstract art. Sharafi added that turning point within such paintings is vivid shapes and lines that make them expressionist painting.



She held that this was the 1st time she was holding a gallery in Tehran. She lives in Italy and works as a translator of Italian literary works into Persian alongside with painting.



She has translated several works by Antonio Tabucchi, Italian writer. Sun Books will deliver Requiem, and Thus Speakth Prierra, both translated by myself to the Ministry of Culture to qualify for print permit, Sharafi said.
