The second edition of international conference on the Persian and Turkish language commonalities is scheduled to be held in Tehrans Allameh Tabatabaei University.A number of Iranian and Turkish university professors and literati will participate in the two-day conference.
Common terms in both languages, history of Persian language in Turkey and the role of media in the expansion of literary relations between the two countries are some of the topics that will be discussed at the event.
The conference also review the Persian and Turkish translations of literary works, studies on Mowlavi in Turkey and Iran and several other subjects.
The first conference took place at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul in May 2012.
Organized by Irans Allameh Tabatabaei University and Turkeys Istanbul University, the second edition of the conference will kick off on May 11, 2014.
While Persian language (Farsi) was a dominant language throughout Asia including Turkey in few centuries age, up to the 1960 revolution in Turkey the study of Persian language was compulsory in all Turkish schools.
Moreover, most of the high dignitaries of Ottoman Court used to recite Persian verses of Hafiz and Saadi and other great poets of Iran and considered it as a sign of culture and refinement.
The works and life of some contemporary poets of two countries have been reviewed during several events so far.
University of Tehran and Ankara University had earlier presented joint seminars on the contemporary poets Mohammad Hossein Shahriar (Iran) and Abdurrahim Karakoc (Turkey) in 2013.
