IKCO targets global markets

TEHRAN (FNA)- "IKCO has targeted global markets as well as the domestic one and this is its main strategy," said Iran Khodro Industrial Group's senior vice-president in a meeting with the senior adviser to the President and Trade and Industry Minister of Sierra Leone in Tehran.

During their meeting with the company's senior vice-president, Abbas Maleki Tehrani, the Sierra Leonean delegation also visited the company and the production lines and got a chance to get familiar with the latest technology employed in the lines and the achievements accomplished.

In the meantime, Maleki gave a report on Iran Khodro's ranking in the region and Asia and also on the company's production capacity and capabilities and its international cooperation with global carmakers.

The senior vice-president also asserted that effective presence in global market was IKCO's main strategy and the company was ready to develop economic ties with Sierra Leone and export cars to that country.

Usman Boie Kamara, the Minister of Trade and Industry of Sierra Leone, also emphasized, "Sierra Leone people are interested in Iranian cars and as long as IKCO has a site in Senegal, we can take advantage of that site to supply our demand; this also can lower our transportation costs due to our closeness to this country."

"We require skilled and specialist workforce in this field and we seek cooperation with IKCO to develop our car making industry," added the Boie Kamara.

According to Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, the senior adviser to the Sierra Leone President, the achievements and employed technologies in IKCO were admirable and IKCO Samand could best match Sierra Leonean people's taste and financial ability.
