Iran ready to reopen British Embassy in Tehran: MP

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA – Head of Iran-UK Parliamentary Friendship Group, Abbasali Mansouri Arani, said on Saturday that Iran is ready to reopen British Embassy in Tehran.

Speaking to IRNA, Mansouri Arani said that in his meeting with British non-resident charge d’affaires to Tehran Ajay Sharma, the two had discussed issues of mutual interest, including reopening the embassies in both Tehran and London.

He said that they both believe that non-resident representation contravenes the longstanding ties and is improper diplomatically, a reference to a mutual desire to upgrade ties.
