Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister Mohammad Reza Maqhaddam said that Iranian hydrocarbon resources were worth a total of $30 trillion at an oil price of $100 per barrel, Trend reports.
He clarified that hydrocarbons worth about $8 trillion had been extracted. The deputy minister noted that the country needed to be less dependent on natural resources.
According to the official, Iran will start processing oil itself to be less dependent on petroleum imports. He added that the country had enough resources to resist economic sanctions imposed on the country.
