Takfiris seek to spread crisis in Mideast: Iran MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker says terrorist Takfiri groups seek to spread the Syrian crisis to the entire Middle East region to compensate for their defeat in Damascus.
Member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Abbas Ali Manouri-Aranion Monday condemned the assassination of an Iranian diplomat in Yemen, , saying it was a move aimed at creating sectarian strife in the Muslim world.
The assassination of Iranian diplomats is an approach [pursued] by Takfiri groups to compensate for their defeat in Syria, he said.

The so-called advocates of human rights and international communities must condemn this measure and prosecute its perpetrators, the Iranian lawmaker added.
Mansouri Arani said the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee and Foreign Ministry are investigating the case.

On Saturday, the commercial attach of the Iranian Embassy in Sanaa, Abolqasem Asadi, was gunned down by members of a terrorist group outside the Iranian ambassadors residence in the Yemeni capital.

The assailants first tried to kidnap the Iranian diplomat but upon facing resistance opened fire on him. The diplomat who was seriously injured succumbed to his wounds at hospital.

In a telephone conversation after the attack, Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi offered his condolences to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and the victims family.

Qirbi said the Yemeni government is ready to cooperate with Iran in investigating the attack.
