Envoy: Iran Resolved to Consolidate Ties with Turkey

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Alireza Bigdeli underlined that expansion of the bilateral relations with the neighboring countries, specially Turkey, has always stood atop Iran's foreign policy.


Bigdeli pointed to Iran-Turkey cultural capacities, and said, "Iran and Turkey have many unused capacities which is known to everyone."

The Iranian envoy stressed that the Iranian embassy in Turkey supports any move which would result in broadening of Iran-Ankara ties.

Bigdeli pointed to setting up of Cultural, Educational and Trade Society of Iran and Turkey, and said, "Setting up this society is a new experience in Iran-Turkey relations."

Both Iran and Turkey have broadened their relations in various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy and culture in the recent years.

The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months.

Turkey imports more than 90 percent of its oil and gas.

Iran and Turkey are determined to boost their trade exchanges to $35bln in the near future.
