Spanish FM calls for deepening of ties with Iran

Madrid, Jan 14, IRNA -- Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo voiced his country?s willingness for the further expansion of bilateral ties with Iran.

?Sections such as infrastructure, water and sewage or renewable energies that the Spanish companies have high level of advanced technology and experience provide good opportunities for enhancement of economic relations between Tehran and Madrid,? the Spanish foreign minister said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Madrid Morteza Saffari Natanzi on Tuesday.


Garcia-Margallo pointed to his country?s economic potentials and capabilities in different fields, and expressed the hope that the two countries? relations and exchange of visits by the Iranian and Spanish high-ranking officials will increase in the near future.

The Iranian ambassador to Madrid, for his part, pointed to capabilities of both sides, and underlined the further expansion of interactions between Iran and Spain in political, economic and cultural fields.

Saffari Natanzi invited the Spanish foreign minister on behalf of his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif to pay a visit to Iran.
