Approval of Iran WAVE proposal rejects anti-Islam claims- activist

Baku, Dec 29, IRNA – An Azeri activist said the UN General Assembly measure to adopt the World Against Violence and Extremism (WAVE) act based on Iran’s proposal proved that all anti-Islam claims made by the West are baseless.

Akif Naqi, President of Organization of Karabakh Freedom, said approval of such a proposal made by the Islamic Republic of Iran was a strong response to baseless claims saying that Islam is seeking violence.

Exclusively talking to IRNA, Naqi described approval of the WAVE proposal made by the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on December 18 as a positive event.

Extremism and violence are two major problems of the world nations, he reiterated.

He further expressed hope that the global community would take effective steps towards bringing about peace and security to the entire globe, particularly the region.
