Iranian, Japanese officials discuss ways to expand ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian and Japanese officials in a meeting in Tehran conferred on ways to further develop relations and cooperation between the two countries, specially in customs affairs.


The issue was discussed in a Sunday meeting between top officials of the Japanese embassy in Tehran with Director General for international cooperation at Irans Customs Administration Gholam Reza Saffari Taheri.

In the meeting, the two sides explored grounds for expansion of mutual cooperation in customs affairs.

The two sides also discussed the exchange of information and promotion of educational cooperation.

Diplomatic relations between Iran and Japan were formally established in 1926 and throughout history, the two countries have maintained a friendly and strongly cooperation in various arenas.

The two countries' officials have held talks in different economic, trade, political and cultural fields in recent years to explore new ways of expanding bilateral ties.

Iran is one of the main oil suppliers to Japan.
