Tehran, Dec 23, IRNA � Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Monday attended mourning ceremonies on the occasion of Arbaeen.

A number of state and military officials as well as people from all walks of life were present in the ceremonies, featuring eulogy and chest beating.


Arbaeen is the 40th day after the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (S).
