No secret talks going on between Iran, US, FM official

Tehran, Dec 10, IRNA Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said no secret talks is taking place between Iran and the US.
She made the remarks while talking to reporters during her weekly news conference answering a question regarding the recent statement made by US president who had said there were secret talks going on between the two countries.

She said anything happening between Tehran and Washington on Irans nuclear program took place in Geneva within the framework of negotiations with the 5+1, adding that Irans views on talks with the US are quite clear and transparent.

Asked to comment on the remarks of the Zionist President Shimon Peres who had voiced readiness to meet President Hassan Rouhani, Afkham stressed that no changes have been maded in Irans views and positions towards the Zionist regime.

She stated that Tehran has never acknowledged the Zionist regime as a state and believes that the very establishment of the regime is based on aggression and occupation.

She said Iran views the Zionist regime as a quite fake regime sustaining its existance in the occupied lands by oppressing the Palestinian nation.

Afkham reiterated that such remarks are useless attempts to end the Zionist regimes isolation.

Turning to the imminent visit to Tehran of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, she said he is to hold detailed talks with his Iranian counterpart and President Rouhani during his two-day stay.
