ME people main winner of Iran nuclear deal: Hezbollah

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah says the main winners of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the six world powers are the people in the region.

“Without a doubt this agreement will have many repercussions, and the main winners of this agreement are the nations of the region,” Nasrallah said in an interview with a Lebanese TV channel on Tuesday.

Hezbollah’s leader praised the nuclear agreement for preventing a war in the region, saying some regional states were pushing for a conflict in the Middle East, which could have been disastrous.

On November 24, Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council — the United States, Russia, France, China, and Britain — plus Germany sealed an agreement to lay the groundwork for the full resolution of the West’s decade-old dispute with Iran over its nuclear energy program.

In exchange for Tehran’s confidence-building measure to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities, the Sextet agreed to lift some of the existing sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
