FM Zarif opens 7-yr-old lock in Kuwait

Tehran, Nov 2, IRNA Recent visit to Kuwait of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was a chance to open a seven-year-old lock which had stopped conducting sessions of High Economic Commission between the two.
Zarif arrived in Kuwait City on Sunday to attend the second meeting of Iran-Kuwait High Economic Commission.

Later in the day, he left the Kuwaiti capital for Muscat, Oman.

The meeting was held after a seven-year halt. It was conducted in the presence of Kuwaits Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabah Khaled al-Hamd al-Sabah.

In his address to the meeting, Zarif expressed hope that the event would help the two capitals use their maximum potentials to boost bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti foreign minister said that holding the meeting of Iran-Kuwait economic commission has indicated lasting relations between the two countries.

Referring to 50 years of Iran-Kuwait relations, the Kuwaiti minister regretted that the political relations between the two countries had not witnessed an appropriate growth compared to bilateral economic cooperation.

He expressed hope that the economic commission would take strong steps to boost economic cooperation between the two capitals.

Referring to the first step nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the 5+1 in Geneva, Ahmad Al-Sabah hoped that the agreement would help promote regional and international stability.
