A senior Iranian nuclear negotiator says Tehran and six major world powers are to discuss the specifics of a nuclear deal they recently sealed in Geneva.Foreign Ministry directors general from Iran and the P5+1 will hold a meeting next week to review the details of implementing the agreement between Iran and the P5+1, said Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi on Saturday.
Iran and the Sextet -- Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany -- clinched a deal on Tehrans civilian nuclear program in Geneva on November 24.
Under the accord, billions of dollars in Irans blocked oil revenues will be released and sanctions will be gradually lifted in return for Tehran limiting its nuclear energy program.
However, there is still no mechanism to ensure the implementation of the Geneva deal by the two sides.
Under the agreement we reached in Geneva, both sides need a few weeks to make preparations for the implementation of phase one, Araqchi said.
He said the European Union and the US need time to change the rules regarding the sanctions against Iran while Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency need time to work out the mechanisms required to implement the agreement.
The agency seems to be in need of more budget and financial and human resources, he added.
The Iranian official also stressed that any probable delay in the implementation of the deal would be due to technical and executive problems only.
According to Araqchi, the Geneva deal is to be implemented as of late December 2013 or early January 2014.
