Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has described Middle East as a highly sensitive region, stating that regional problems have doubled ever since colonial powers created the bogus regime of Israel.Over the past 65 years, Zionists footprints could be traced in any scourge and problem in the region, he said in a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Tehran on Monday.
The Iranian president noted, There is no way to rescue the region other than bring peoples together and creating solidarity and unity among them.
Rouhani went on to say that world powers have long pursued their interests through religious and ethnic disputes, stressing that foreign military intervention has led to an uptick in regional troubles and a decline in regional stability over the recent years.
There is not a single day when one cannot witness bloodshed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and more recently in Lebanon, he commented.
Turning to the twin bomb blasts that targeted the Iranian Embassy in Lebanons capital, the Iranian president stated that even though such attempts seek to discourage Iran and Lebanon from supporting the anti-Israeli resistance front, they will not be able to stop the two countries from pursuing their lofty and major goals.
The two blasts outside Iran's diplomatic mission in the southern neighborhood of Janah in Beirut left at least 25 people dead, including six Iranian nationals, and wounded over 150 others on November 19.
According to reports, the first explosion took place when a bomber blew his explosives near the gate of the embassy, and the second blast happened just meters away when a car bomb went off.
An al-Qaeda-linked group, Abdullah Azzam Brigades, has claimed responsibility for the twin bombings.
Rouhani also touched upon the ongoing Syrian crisis, and voiced grave concern over the presence of professional terrorists from various regional and trans-regional countries in the conflict-stricken Arab state.
We share common views on Syria and believe that problems in the country should be resolved through dialogue and political initiatives, he said.
Berri, for his part, referred to the terrorist attack on the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, emphasizing that all walks of life, religious and ethnic groups as well as political blocs in Lebanon have censured the act of terror.
