Beirut, Nov 6, IRNA Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri hailed Irans diplomacy and said it has brought the West to its knees by its diplomatic logic.In an interview with the Lebanese daily al-Safir, he said Iranians believe no one except the Syrian nation is entitled to make decisions for the future of the country and destiny of President Bashar al-Assad.
He noted that according to Iranians the issue of President al-Assad remaining in office or stepping down is something which is to be settled only through free and healthy elections supervised by the international community.
Believing that proximity between Iran and Saudi Arabia would be of positive impacts on Syria and Lebanon, the Lebanese Speaker underlined the need for establishment of ties between Tehran and Riyadh, saying decisions in Lebanon have to enjoy regional support.
