TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (MNA) A Parliament Economic Commission member has said government will gradually cut subsidies for Iranians abroad by three months.
Abdul Karim Rajabi told Mehr News that by three months the government would identify the higher income citizens and those who pay higher taxes and cut their subsidies, thus helping purposeful subsiding come into reality.
He added that the savings from cutting subsidies would be allocated unfinished government projects which needed Rls.400, 000b (roughly US $ 133b) to be completed, and if these projects abandoned unfinished, they will be gradually crumble.
Rajabi also said that 50 million of Iranians receive cash subsidies. The paid cash is not sufficient and some families still face difficulties in daily life despite receiving the subsidies. The savings from subsidy cut would be invested by the government in health and social welfare sectors, he added.
